Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ >> How are my FTP details secured?

If you configure FTP backups then we will store your FTP login details. We treat your FTP details with the strictest security. Your FTP address, username and password are all stored in encrypted format using Rijndael/AES 256-Bit encryption which has been certified for use by US government agencies and military.

Your FTP password will never be displayed by our systems and only the last four characters of your FTP username will ever be displayed.

Note, you only need to configure FTP backups if the myRepono API is unable to process a large backup file, using version 1.4 or above of the myRepono API then this applies to files over 64MB in size. This limit is controlled with the $api_max_http_filesize configuration variable, for more information please refer to our API Configuration & Customisation documentation.

You will receive an automated failed backup notification indicating if you need to configure FTP backups.
