Blog >> API Version 2.0 for Future Compatibility

The myRepono Backup API has been updated to address potential future compatibility issues, and current edge-case compatibility issues.

It is recommended that all users update their API to version 2.0 using either the manual or automated API installation tools, or users running version 1.4 or above may be able to take advantage of the API upgrade tool.

New Features & Changes
  • Support for PHP's mySQLi extension has been added and will be used by default whenever mySQLi is supported.
  • PHP depreciation notices associated with usage of PHP's mySQL extension will now be suppressed to prevent unnecessary error log records.
  • Usage of PHP's depreciated mysql_numrows() alias has been replaced with mysql_num_rows().
  • IP authentication will now ignore port numbers included in detected IP addresses on some edge-case servers.
  • Automatic removal of old files from the API data directory has been improved.

For detailed information regarding the configuration options offered by version 2.0 of the API, please refer to the API Configuration & Customisation documentation.
